AMALGAM TATTOO CASE REPORT A 47-year-old female patient presented to her periodontist for a periodontal evaluation in late January 2019 with the following chief complaint: I bit down on an olive pit and felt some discomfort for about a day, and when I looked in my mouth, I noted a bruise. The blackish gingival lesion buccal to the right mandibular first molar that was approximately 2 cm in diameter palpated as normal gingival tissue and appeared to be consistent with the appearance of an amalgam tattoo (Figure 1)
