Humbert Freres, Gevrey Chambertin Poissenot Size:12x750ml it doesn t quite have

it doesn t quite have the level of fleshiness and depth that is found in so many wines from Bolgheri in 2006

The 2016 Barbaresco Riserva Muncagota stands out in this group of nine for the slightly more mineral-driven definition on the bouquet and the bigger textural impact and structure of the mouthfeel

(raised in new French oak casks of varying size for two years) Inky ruby

The searing tannin and backward expression are reminiscent of a Serralunga Barolo

On a final note

Humbert Freres, Gevrey Chambertin Poissenot Size:12x750ml it doesn t quite have(from 20 to 25 year old vines). An extremely fresh and bright red fruit and mineral inflected nose complements to perfection the clean, detailed and superbly energetic medium full flavors that culminate in a sappy, serious, firm and equally explosive finish that is driving and linear in character. This is a sophisticated effort in both its understatement and purity. Highly recommended. 92 2014+
