Hattingley Valley's 2013 Brut Kings Cuvée is showing very well indeed

bloody notes on the nose

A very powerful red with the structure and intensity of a great Rioja from the 1950s

balanced and nicely complex finale

Here too there is just enough reduction present to blur the nuances of the fruit though the hallmark spice elements do peek through

Real gran reserva. Dried fruits such as plums, prunes and cherries. Hints of figs too. Layered and so structured. Full bodied and chewy yet intense and persistent. A fabulous wine. So much potential here. Better in 2020.
