Penfolds, Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon other_regions This is much more mineral-driven

This is much more mineral-driven than any of the prior wines with its beautifully detailed medium weight flavors that also possess focused power on the saline

17 ha parcel of 80+ year old vines)

I like the power and punch but the hint of herbaceousness is a potential concern

There are suggestions of warm earth and herbal tea on the lightly spiced dark currant scented nose

There is a more evident minerality to the big-bodied

Penfolds, Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon other_regions This is much more mineral-drivenYouthful purple color. Displays pungent aromas of dried cherry, blackcurrant, licorice and mocha, with a smoky nuance gaining strength with aeration. Taut and refreshingly bitter on entry, offering spice accented dark fruit flavors and a touch of dark chocolate. The cherry and licorice qualities carry through the finish, which is firmed by youthfully chewy tannins and tangy acidity. Josh Raynolds
