Wind Across the Sand Size:24"x36" Frost was on the grass

Frost was on the grass and a little sheet of ice was on some of the ponds in Ann Morrison Park this morning

This small island just off the coast was coming and going in the rain and clouds

I picked out a location up a little path and set up my tripod starting to photography the stars as I waited for the sun to rise

Right after parking the car and walking towards the park I noticed this scene

Wind Across the Sand Size:24"x36" Frost was on the grassAs the day moves to afternoon at the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve the wind picks up. With the wind starting to blow those lines which were led to the distance start to be obscured with the blowing sand from the gusty wind. These winds are quite common at the sand dunes based on the location of the park in the Alamosa valley and is also how they initially formed.
