紬地に辻が花柄を染めた訪問着から。

菖蒲は「勝負」と同じ音であることから「勝利」、桔梗はその漢字から「更に吉」を意味し、縁起の良いモチーフであるとされています。

奢侈禁止令のあった当時は庶民が派手な色柄を着ることができなかったため、縞柄や格子柄などの幾何学文様が発展しました。

山は「威厳」「不動」の象徴でもあり、古くから意匠として採用されてきました。

京都の祇園祭の山鉾は疫病や災いを鎮めるためにつくられたとされていることから、「厄除け」「魔除け」を連想させる意匠です。
