水流の間に表現される花は牡丹、桔梗、菊、梅などで、それぞれ「富貴」、「勝利」、「高貴」、「生命力」の意味をもつ縁起の良い文様です。

ヱ霞は「エ」の文字のような形の霞を断続的に描いた文様で、途切れることのない柄であることから「永遠」の意味を持ちます。
