The majority of the recipe uses whisky purchased as new make by Compass Box which was then matured in a variety of casks. Comprised of a Highland malt blend matured in custom French oak barrels (2%), an undisclosed malt from a distillery near the town of Aberlour matured in revatted Oloroso sherry seasoned butts (8%) and several malts matured in first fill bourbon barrels:
