The composition shows a winter night hockey scene on a flooded prairie rink, with a truck parked on the road beyond the ice. Beyond the rink, open snow covered fields extend toward a low horizon. Frosted trees cluster at left and right, framing the broad expanse of land. Above, the sky occupies nearly half the painting and is rendered in
