The blue window (1913) by Henri Matisse - Poster science-fiction accentuating the design's depthA cool, layered field of blue sets the stage for this Henri Matisse interior. The window opens to rounded tree silhouettes and a pale moon. On the table, a green vase, a single red bloom, a yellow sculpted head, a teal lamp, and small ceramics trade glances. Shapes feel cut and placed, yet the scene stays calm. Color blocks flatten depth, while dark contours give rhythm. It is classic Matisse: Fauvist color, pared forms, and a playful eye for balance.
